The New Moon at 20’41 Aquarius is exact on Friday February 9th, 2024 at 5:59pm EST- commencing a new Lunar Cycle focused on community, visionary gifts, humanity and the collective. The New Moon in Aquarius marks Lunar Imbolc as well as the start of Lunar New Year. This New Moon is joined by Mercury and Pluto who are also in Aquarius- majorly kicking off the Pluto in Aquarius 2 decade journey as well as the next chapter in the Age of Aquarius unfolding on the planet. The Aquarius part of the sky is really important. Tropical Aquarius is Sidereal Capricorn and Capricorn is the beginning of the initiation and baptism into the Celestial Dark Waters in the sky. Capricorn is anciently seen as a Sea Goat- part goat with a fish tail- symbolizing the transition (when looking at the constellations going backwards like the Ages do) from the waters of the womb of the Great Mother to coming out onto the land and being born into the material world. When looking at the constellations going forwards it is at Sidereal Capricorn or Tropical Aquarius that we enter back into the Celestial Dark Waters. It is around 23-24 Tropical Aquarius that we are officially moving past Sidereal Capricorn and headed into the constellations of the Water Bearer and the Pisces Fishes (the Sun will get here about 2 days after the New Moon)
In Aquarius we have many stars called the Lucky Stars- where we are blessed with the celestial gifts of heaven. On a mundane level anciently these Stars and their appearance corresponded to a time of rain that would bless the fertile earth and prepare it for a good planting and harvest season. Today we are told the Water Bearer is a he, but anciently Aquarius was a she- aka the Grail Maiden. She carried the water urns (symbolic of the womb) and poured out 2 streams of water. You can see the remembrance of this in the Tarot card for Aquarius which is the Star- showing a naked maiden pouring 2 streams of water out- one on the earth, one into the water- fertilizing the two feminine elements. On the Star card you also see the huge star of Sirius and the 7 stars of the Pleiades above her (two Stargates profoundly associated with the Divine Feminine). This part of the sky contains powerful Lucky Stars and also one of the most important celestial locations in the sky- Cygnus X (which the Sun will be conjunct on February 17th).
Cygnus X-3 is a thought to be a neturon star or maybe a star made of quarks. It is 37,000 Light years away. Researchers think it may be connected to the Higg’s Boson or God Particle- the unseen force behind the creation of the building blocks of matter. If you know your Human Design you know that cosmic particles like neutrinos can influence human consciousness. Cygnus X-3 sends a DELUGE of neutrinos to earth- they come in via the Female Water Bearer who blesses us with the Waters of Life. This New Moon is not precisely conjunct Cygnus X- as it it is about 8 degrees away- but it can be considered widely conjunct and the first 8-9 days of the Lunar Cycle the Sun will be approaching it.
In this area of the Sky we have 3 Celestial Birds above the Dark Waters that are the Source of Life- Aquila, Cygnus and Lyra. They were anciently seen as 3 Vultures- Vulture is seen as a symbol of the Great Mother in ancient Egypt. Today these 3 constellations are seen as a bald eagle, a swan and a lyre/harp. These 3 birds above the Dark Waters link the Upperworld with the Underworld. Birds are seen as messengers from Spirit- vultures in particular are seen as birds that recycle life as they eat what is dead and purify things in order for new life to take hold. The Latin name for the common vulture here in the USA is Cathartes Aura- which literally means Aura purifier- so these birds can help purify us, as can the Grail Maiden as she pours the baptismal waters onto us. This is the last part of the Zodiac cycle that starts with Aries and ends with Pisces- Aquarius and Pisces are the last two most transpersonal signs. This is also the deepest part of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere- a very inward time that is ripe with reflection if we take time to turn within- which I recommend doing! Now onto the specifics of this New Moon! The New Moon squares Uranus- the ruler of Aquarius- packing an extra punch when it comes to sudden, unexpected shifts and changes that you did not see coming. Staying open to the unexpected and embracing change is key in this Lunar Cycle- as all the personal planets (Sun through Mars) in Aquarius will square Uranus throughout the entire lunar month. In addition the Divine Lovers- Venus and Mars- will cojoin Pluto in Aquarius and then head to cojoin themselves later in the month (the Sun and Mercury already cojoined Pluto in the last Lunar Cycle). So we have some VERY BIG ACTIVATION of the AGE OF AQUARIUS energies incoming!!! Pay attention to where the Universe is showing you what your contribution to the Age of Aquarius is and where you are being called forward to fulfill that mission, as well as and more importantly perhaps- what might be holding you back from fully aligning with that path. This New Moon forms a Grand Air Trine with Vesta in Gemini and the South Node in Libra- and it forms a Kite with the North Node in Aries conjunct Eris and Chiron. The Eris/North Node conjunction was last October/November 2023 and the Chiron/North Node conjunction is incoming February 19th and March 5th True/Mean Node respectively. We are right smack in the middle of HUGE activation of the Nodal axis- and we will be heading into the Eclipse Portal in the next Lunar Cycle as well. The North Node in Aries has the destiny of taking action, activating, having agency and making things happen. Healing around where we either overdo that in selfish, egotistic ways OR where we don’t do that and hold ourselves back can be forthcoming. The Grand Air trine is amazing for things to come in via information, communication and ideas. Vesta in Gemini is devoted to coming back to Beginner’s Mind and being open to Receive. The New Moon in Aquarius square Uranus can have some sudden and unexpected realizations, inspiration, and downloads that come in- like the Lightning Bolt seen on the Tarot Card of the Tower. Luckily the Grand Air Trine helps stabilize things- but Uranus squares can be shocking so grounding, embodiment and practices that support both are key.
All Planets are in Direct motion in the New Moon chart- which is like being on a train that is picking up speed. Making sure we are heading in the right direction is key- as once this train picks up sufficient speed it will not be possible to turn back.
There is a very strong Divine Feminine energy in the New Moon Chart. Aquarius is the Female Water Bearer, Uranus is in Taurus the sign of Venus and the embodied Divine Feminine. Jupiter is conjunct the fixed star Schedir- which is the Queen and represents Female Power. Schedir is in the Constellation Cassiopeia- a constellation that rotates around the Pole Star and moves between looking like an M and a W. M is for Mother, W is for womb. Female power is sourced in her womb- the place of creation, the place that connects women to the womb of the Great Mother. Cassiopeia means ‘She of the Throne’ which is modernly an eptithet of Isis- and anciently associated with a previous, older Goddess. (Stargate Mystery School goes into all of this) Of course we must not forget we are heading into a potent Jupiter/Uranus conjunct at 22 Taurus on April 20th- so we have some very big activation coming to this earthy, sensual, Venus ruled sign very soon!
Which leads me to the very powerful and profound Star Sparks degree for this New Moon- the title of which is “A beautiful woman dressed in white. She is wearing a large silver crescent on her head. The crescent is pointing upward.” The text for this degree speaks of the Divine Feminine bringing through something from Spirit that is radical, disruptive and explosive (sounds like Uranus). She manifests as Kali. If you know the Hindu Goddess Kali you know she is something fierce! But her ferocity is not egoic violence or rage- but the ferocity of Spirit that has gotten enraged at how far we have strayed from the path of awakening and embodiment- so she comes in to reroute us. The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon also speaks of a woman- “A disappointed and disillusioned woman courageously faces a seemingly empty life.” It sounds depressing but the keynote speaks to “the capacity to meet emotionally upsetting experiences in human relationships with the strength of character and personal integrity” and it speaks to resilience under adversity. Ironically this sounds similar to Kali- intense things that help us awaken.
Lasly I want to speak to the Sabian Symbol for where Uranus is- the keynote of which states “The awareness of Spiritual Forces at work”. It talks about the presence of celestial beings blessing and subtly revealing the direction to take, the direction of ‘the wind’ of destiny. The 3 Vultures in the sky were seen as angels and celestial beings who bequeathed just such kind of blessings and messages of direction. This degree reminds us to stay open to receiving the blessings of super-natural forces- those of which most definitely will be present and incoming in this very powerful Lunar Cycle ahead.

STAR SPARKS DEGREE- for the New Moon

Aquarius 21 A beautiful woman dressed in white. She is wearing a large silver crescent on her head. The crescent is pointing upward.
The Divine Feminine in her aspect of bringing something through from spirit realms which is radical, disruptive, and explosive. She manifests Kali. Her continence is angelic. Her source is of the highest. Her manner is exemplary. And her impact is incendiary.
She insists that whatever we have denied and neglected now become honored and brought to central prominence. Her piercing gaze searches out the injustices, the imbalances, the larger record of the collective. She must bring what is unpopular, from the future, from the past, from elsewhere. She is not amused.
To constellate this archetype, to be rightful material for such a cup of mixed blessing requires a karmic background of the most impressive credentials. For this is the most delicate balancer and it can so easily become a personal and subjective vendetta against those perceived as in the wrong.
It is vital that this frequency remain above the dynamics of polarity karma. This cannot be fueled by rage, not by self-righteousness of any kind. Only when it is purely true can it be unleashed effectively in this world at this time.
When it is grown into as something beyond all disputes and partisanships, the sword of Sophia will emerge from the Kali phase and will wield a universal force of real power. This force seeks to restore the spirit domain and to put behind us the excessive reliance upon our own emotions and lost chords of partial truth.
If the whole truth is to shine through, the vessel must be scrupulously cleansed of the old human error that has gotten us in such trouble. Here comes the future full boar.

The man who manages vast and complex business enterprises most often reaches power and achieves success because of his ability to deal with crises and temporary reverses of fortune. At the emotional level we now see a “woman” confronted with sharp disappointment and forced to face the vanishing of cherished illusions, presumably in terms of a close personal relationship. She has to learn to manage such crises, which are really tests of inner strength and perhaps compassion. We all have within ourselves the power to learn through emotional crises. But like any other faculty it needs development.
This is the first symbol in the sixty-fifth five-fold sequence. It urges us to develop RESILIENCE under adversity.

Any emergence of life potentialities from the depth of the vast Unconscious is answered by the spiritual activity of superconscious forces in a cosmic kind of antiphony. The individual who has taken a new step in their evolution should look for the “Signature” of divine Powers confirming their progress. It may reveal the meaning of what is to come next. The “wing-like clouds” may also symbolize the presence of celestial beings (devas, angels) blessing and subtly revealing the direction to take, the direction of “the wind” of destiny.
This is the fifth stage of the tenth five-fold sequence. It concludes a process, having experienced which the individual should find themselves more securely established in their own original nature, receiving the BLESSINGS of super-natural forces.
