edward snowden: the uranian who is upsetting the plutonians
the latest political story about a 29 year old who exposed some very hidden secrets that the government has been keeping from the public is on the front page of many newspapers right now. of course the first thing i did after hearing the story is google for edward’s birth information- as an astrologer that is always the first thing that interests me ;)
his birthdate is being given as june 21st, 1983. he is a solstice baby- depending on time he is either born with a 29 degree gemini sun or a 1st degree cancer sun. the solstice is the one time of year that we have the greatest Light (in the northern hemisphere) and symbolically it is a time of seeing all that has been left in the dark. people born on or around the summer solstice can have life paths of being way-showers or illuminators- and it seems for edward that is definitely the case!
his chart has a plethora of gemini planets- including chiron, the wounded healer, mercury (in his home sign of gemini), mars almost exactly conjunct the north node, and his sun also aligned with the north node but wider in aspect (he could be a cancer sun- i am looking at a 12noon chart since we don’t have a birth time for him). with mercury in gemini as one of the final dispositors of his chart (meaning many of the planets come back to this one planet when you look at their relationships) i see a person fascinated with information. his release of ‘meta-data’ is very apropos for gemini- the sign of data and wanting to compile it! currently transiting chiron is squaring his mercury- bringing up a need to find a new Truth and see a much bigger picture. he also has jupiter in sagittarius (the sign jupiter rules) opposing his mercury. this is the search for Truth with a capital T. gemini sees all kinds of information but tends to stay on the surface, flitting about from idea to idea. sagittarius on the other hand tries to bring all the information together so that a greater picture can be formed. the search for Truth is both personal but also philosophical, spiritual and political- especially in this case!
with mars, the warrior will and drive, in the sign of information and conjunct his north node he is meant to be some kind of information/communication activist. taking a stand for what he believes is part of his journey! with the sun also aligned with the north node he has a destiny as a leader or someone in the limelight, but because it’s on the north node this limelight energy does not come easy (he is quoted as saying he prefers this not be about him but about the information coming to Light).
he also has neptune on the south node, showing a lot of past lives as mystical, spiritual and creative- but also as delusional, deceptive or the victim of circumstances. hopefully in this life his bold move will help him release those ties that bind him to past lives- as the sun and mars on the north node do not speak of being a confused victim at all! they speak of a decisive and direct leader, hero and activist. someone who has no fear and boldly goes where others fear to tread.
when i heard he was 29 the first thing i thought of was ‘what a saturn return he is going through!’ everyone goes through their first saturn return around 29-30 and it is a time of making big decisions that impact the course of one’s life. when i finally found his birth data i see his saturn return is technically over (his saturn is at 27 libra conjunct pluto so it was exact in fall of 2012), but his moon is in deep, intense and penetrating scorpio and saturn will be heading into conjunction with his moon sometime in the next year (the moon changes quickly so birth time is key). i would venture to say he made his decision about moving forward with the release of this info back in the fall of 2012 when he was going through his saturn return and since then it’s been about preparing and implementing those plans. he definitely is going through a deep, dark underworld transit right now (and will be until saturn moves off his moon)- into the belly of the whale he goes!
his whole departure from hawaii and trip to hong kong- where he currently is located- happened during the intense eclipse portal we just moved through. the first lunar eclipse on 4/25 and the second solar eclipse on 5/9 may have been either conjunct or opposite his moon (again this depends on birth time). and the last lunar eclipse on 5/24 was on his jupiter/uranus conjunction- inciting his rebellion and need for greater Truth! clearly this eclipse portal was huge for him personally. remember that the last eclipse was square neptune- so there is some level of delusion or deception playing out with that eclipse (which had sun in gemini opposite sagittarius moon) and perhaps this information coming to Light is the Universe’s way of parting the veil and letting us see more of the Truth?
on Facebook i saw a debate as to whether or not this information being shared has compromised our safety as a country. personally i feel that that is what the plutonian government will want us to believe. they are hiding things from us for our own good and someone revealing information is to blame for endangering us as a country. i personally find that to be complete bullshit. transparency is key- but it’s not just for the people it’s also for the government, for the politicians, for those in power. i surely have nothing to hide and yet taking away the freedom of privacy from me without my explicit permission or awareness is not okay. this is all saturn in scorpio stuff- saturn is about boundaries/limits/what is right and scorpio is about privacy, secrets, shadows and power/control dynamics.
i see edward as a uranian individual (jupiter conjunct uranus opposite his mercury) and he is defying the plutonian powers that be. there is so much we don’t know and aren’t told and they tell us it is for our own good- but isn’t that what a plutocrat or communist would say? when any 8th house/scorpio/pluto themes are at stake (money, power, control, sexuality)- we have to question people’s motives. 8th house themes can have an addictive quality to them and when people are given amounts of them in excess it’s amazing how they can compromise their integrity or make choices for their own benefit. some even sell their Soul. honestly i feel that the whole camel through the eye of the needle experience is the ability to move through 8th house material and still keep your integrity and Soul intact. i think we all go through lifetimes of lessons around these areas of life- to see when and if we can rise above and maintain our Soul’s integrity despite the outer circumstances.
it will be interesting to see the rest of this story unfold. i personally think edward is brave. we need more people to stand up and fight for Truth. if we were transparent and in our integrity in the first place- as a country and as individuals- there would be no need for covert operations to ‘protect ourselves from terrorists’. we are power hungry and we dominate and strong arm other countries- so they retaliate back and fight with us. who is the greater bully here? the united states of america is heading into our pluto return in the next decade. our own deep shadows will come back up for us to address- and it is all beginning to happen now. we need to stop projection and starting becoming accountable for our shadow past- it’s only from this place of ownership that we can truly implement far-reaching and enlightening change.
