(this is a repost from a spontaneous status update i posted on FB with a bit more commentary added towards the end. if you do not not know what happened in connecticut this morning, google it or turn on the news.)
i was trying to avoid reading about the connecticut elementary school shooting. knowing that i am so sensitive and all i have to do is hear there was a shooting is usually enough. in the end i did choose to read the links and am deeply, deeply saddened by what i read. my heart is raw and my only hope is that these intense experiences WAKE PEOPLE UP. we watch so much violence on tv and in the movies these days we seem desensitized to it. when it actually happens in real life people are so shocked, yet we watch things like this all the time in the media and we let our small kids watch it as well. next time you watch a violent movie imagine that all that violence is happening to you, your child or to someone you love. would you want to experience something like that? kids are very open and violence on screen can easily translate to nightmares OR to violence expressed. please be mindful of what energies you invite into your life and into the lives of the young ones around you. they will become the teachers/doctors/victims/murderers of our future.
astrologically this happened on the heels of uranus, the rebel/revolutionary/planet of sudden and unexpected things, stationing direct in the sign of aries which rules anger, aggression and violence (as well as assertivness, dynamism and action). also this early this morning, the moon occulted pluto (eclipsed pluto). between these two celestial shifts the uranus/pluto square was majorly activated and a violent, sad occurrence took place. my heart is heavy and we just prayed for the victims, their families and friends, the elementary school in connecticut, and for the world at large. if you feel called, please do the same. prayers can create a tipping point.
