this is a big week! we have a TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE IN LEO on the NORTH NODE/CERES CONJUNCTION! all eclipses are aligned with the nodes- but what makes this one especially rare is CERES, the Great Mother asteroid’s presence. if you read my columns regularly you are aware that there is a very significant ceres transit happening- with a triple conjunction of ceres on the north node and pluto quincunx to both (lasting from end of november 2017 to start of june 2018). if you know your greek mythology you know that ceres/demeter and pluto/hades have a pretty intense relationship- as pluto abducted persephone ceres daughter (also known as kore). as such we are in the midst of some very big UNDERWORLD JOURNEYS when it comes to women, women’s health, pregnancy, fertility, children, mothers/mothering, home/family dynamics, the environment, the air/food/water supply, nurturing/nourishment, physical and emotional safety/security, and in regards to Mother Earth in general (for an in-depth review on this be sure to read the LUNAR INSIGHT for the upcoming lunar eclipse which can be found under cosmic insight/astrology blog on my site)
this week LOTS OF PLANETS pile up in AQUARIUS- the sign of the karmic south node. the pull to the old, to the past, to old paradigms and ways of being and doing are strong. the south node in aquarius comes from the head, likes to detach, intellectualize and rise above. yet the shadow of this expresses when we disconnect from the heart, transcend before we have fully FELT and moved through all that is present for us, and when we go with group think/group mind doing/saying what everyone else is doing/saying rather than tuning into the TRUTH OF OUR HEARTS. the extreme shadow of aquarius can be seen in ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE- where we have taken the mind and divorced it completely from the heart- putting mind energy (aka intelligence) into robots/machines that lack empathy, compassion and care. the reason this is an issue is sometimes the smartest thing to do can only be felt by the heart- and without the heart involved we can make many a wrong turn on our paths- personally and collectively.

monday january 29th-
the first aspect of the day and week is exact at 7:02pm when mercury in capricorn semisquares neptune in pisces, creating tension between the logical, rational mind and the planet of intuition and illusion. this can be great for meditation and spiritual journeys but not so great for seeing things clearly. imagination and intuition can be on point OR they can take us down the wrong path! if confused or unclear take time to meditate and turn within for the clarity you seek.
at 10:53pm venus cojoins the mean south node at 15’20 aquarius, linking the Goddess of Love and beauty with the south node of karma and the past. the south node has gifts that are familiar and well worn- but can also keep us stuck in old patterns and paradigms. with venus involved Love and money situations are in the spotlight. there can be past life connections present in our lives right now and our journey is to discern if they are good for our future or if they need to be left in the past (or completed so we can move on). venus in aquarius values her freedom at any cost! if we are overly independent and needing space and freedom- we could do well to look underneath our desire for freedom to see if fear of deep intimacy and deep vulnerability might be running us.
