New Moon in Scorpio- 11/19/25

The New Moon at 28’11 Scorpio is exact on Wednesday November 19th, 2025 at 10:47pm PST/11:47pm MST and early morning 1:47am on the 20th for the East Coast. The New Moon in Scorpio is Lunar Samhain- so we have had quite the long Samhain Portal running from November 6th/7th (Solar Samhain PST/EST) through November 19th/20th. Samhain is the Dark of the Sun- the last part of the Solar Cycle that symbolizes death, release and preparation for the renewal and rebirth of the Sun that will happen at the Winter Solstice. This is a time to turn within, allow things to fall away like the leaves that are falling of the trees around you- and prepare to enter into the Winter Solstice Portal.

Scorpio New Moons can be intense as they require we face fears, deal with loss and letting go, and dive deep to face whatever needs to be faced emotionally, psychologically, spiritually and otherwise. It’s an amazing time for inner work, shadow work, therapy, purging, cleansing and releasing. But not everyone loves to do these things- so Scorpio New Moons and Scorpio season in general can confront us with our unresolved “stuff”.

Luckily this New Moon is super benevolent this year!!! There is a fantastic Grand Water Trine formed between the Sun/Moon and Mercury Retrograde and the two Teacher Planets Jupiter in Cancer (Retrograde) and Saturn in Pisces (also Retrograde). Neptune is at 29’29 Pisces and Uranus is at 29’29 Taurus- in PRECISE SEXTILE (the 2nd of 3)- expanding the Grand Water Trine and even forming a Kite with Uranus at the apex point.

Grand Water Trines are amazing creatively and spiritually and they can bring in a lot of inspiration and potential for the realization of dreams. Involving Jupiter the Planet of Expansion, Uranus the Planet of innovation and Neptune the Planet of Mysticism- all while being grounded by practical, tangible Saturn- it is safe to say there is HUGE potential to set new things into motion right now. The key is to make sure we are listening to our Intuition and Inner Voice and that we are staying open to the possibilities while also being willing to do the work to bring them into manifestation and make them a reality ;)

With Mercury Retrograde conjunct this New Moon we are being asked to plumb the depths. This is amazing for any kind of therapy, healing work or transformational work. The two Teachers (Jupiter and Saturn) are closely trine and they are helping us strike the right balance between luck and hard work, faith and discernment, expansion and healthy limits.

There is an out of bounds quadruple parallel (aspect by declination) of the Moon, Pluto, Chiron and Lilith- reminding us that we must deal with our emotions, our wounds and trauma, and any physical/mental/spiritual health issues we may be dealing with that are connected to both. Transformation and Healing are possible- but it takes WORK. All of them are aligned within less than 1 degree and they are in the Southern Declination- so pay attention to what is coming up from the Unconscious via dreams, intuition, realizations and more- as they can be profoundly insightful.

Mercury will station direct in 9.5 days, Jupiter will do so in 7.9 days- so we will have the Mind and the Planet of Expansion both coming out of the Underworld in the 2nd week of this Lunar Cycle. It may not be until after they are both direct that we see what was seeded at the New Moon start to come to fruition. Slow goes it- Scorpio knows that seeds planted need to take root in the dark first which requires TRUST IN THE INVISIBLE FORCES that are supporting and guiding you right now.

Ceres the Great Mother is almost at Standstill- she stations Direct in 1.7 days close to the Aries Point. Something new is coming forward in home/family situations, in relationships with parents and/or children and around self care. Getting clear on how to balance care of others with care of self in healthy ways can be part of the process.

There is also a powerful declination alignment of Sun/Mercury (conjunct and parallel) to Uranus- with both Sun and Mercury opposite Uranus while also being Parallel. Uranus is the Rebel and Revolutionary and he brings sudden and unexpected events. They could be amazing, they could be shocking- you never know what you are going to get with the Planet of Unpredictability. The key is to stay open to revelation and change- as holding onto the old and the past will just make the Lunar Cycle a lot more bumpy :-0

The Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 29 Scorpio (we always round up to the nearest whole degree) is ‘An Indian Squaw pleading to the Chief for the lives of her children’. The keynote is ‘Love as a principle of redemption’ and Dane Rudhyar talks about this degree representing the Divine Mother as Mediatrix- interceding for her children. The inward process this symbolizes is the Mother as our Soul and her children being our own active energies that have ‘becoming disruptive forces in the collective life of the tribe’. Our Soul is seeking to counteract the karma of our ego’s misdeeds through Love as the principle of redemption.

Fascinatingly the Star Sparks degree for 29 Scorpio speaks of ‘an umbilical cord’ which is what connects us to our Birth Mother when we are in the womb. And the last lines of the text for this degree talk about ‘the ultimate trick…(being)…to love so completely that our fears turn into precious children to tend’- evoking a similar energy of Love being the redemptive force that can heal the split between Soul and ego, Mother and child, Divine Mother and humanity. (You can read the full text of both meditations on the degrees below)

Perhaps with the precise Uranus/Neptune sextile involved in this Grand Water Trine and Kite- we will have some sudden realizations and openings of Mind (Uranus) and Heart (Neptune) that can radically alter timelines and trajectories- personally and collectively! With Uranus aligning with the Pleiades- the 7 Sisters and Doves of Peace- and Neptune aligning with Scheat- the One who goes and returns- the stage is set for the return of something that can be profoundly healing and awakening. Keep your mind and heart open for best results!

Have a blessed New Moon…

SABIAN SYMBOL
by Dane Rudhyar

PHASE 239 (SCORPIO 29°): AN INDIAN SQUAW PLEADING TO THE CHIEF FOR THE LIVES OF HER CHILDREN.

KEYNOTE: Love as a principle of redemption.

Here the soul is presented as a mother whose sons (i.e. her active energies) have become disruptive forces in the collective life of the tribe. She seeks to counteract the karma of their misdeeds through her love and implorations. The soul is responsive to the experience of unity (the spiritual king or chief) but the energies of human nature often follow their self-seeking, divisive tendencies.

This is the fourth symbol of the forty-eighth sequence. It presents us with the value of prayer. The principle of wholeness in man — the soul — acts to offset or attenuate the dictates of karma. In a religious sense, Mary, the Mother, is seen as the Mediatrix, in constant acts of INTERCESSION for the sake of waylaid individuals.

An umbilical cord

What gets to us really deeply gets to us. Whatever we are connected with is
coming at us big time and will not let us rest. We are compelled by an inner necessity to
grapple with, suffer under, emerge through and ultimately become the images, the
energies, the places, the worlds where we have invested hidden corners of our being, all
of which clamor for us to awaken within them and fulfill their part in the dance.

The drama here is so thick that nobody can cut it. Absolutely any and every
place we belong to has its hooks into us and is tugging hard on the line. Yet if we do
embrace such a fate, it radically changes. Our resistance’s generate agony and
postponement of the most galling kind. Our willingness to be all the many selves
inhabiting all the many worlds, no matter how shadowed or obscure, is a home free of
all that is heeded by every orphan and exile within.

We tend to externalize the drama and to turn it into the most elaborate stories,
situations, contexts which keep on boiling over. We need to learn how to center and
ground and re-focus in this body, where it all comes from and returns to.

Deep in the radical body, we will find that the whole world is ours and we belong
to the whole world. And if the most drastic edges keep showing up to be cleared, to be
felt, to be opened toward the future, then that is the task that is given to those who are
aligned with a universal dimension from the first.

When everything gets blown up this big, whatever we fear, whatever we hope
the way we interpret the drift. The ultimate trick is to love so completely that our fears
turn into precious children to tend, and our hopes become just sparks along the way
toward giving birth to all-as-one.
