the new moon at 11’31 aries is exact on thursday march 31st, 2022 at 11:25pm PDT- commencing a new lunar cycle that focuses on action, assertion, aggressiveness, conflict and how we wield our masculine/mars/aries energies in the world- personally and collectively. with this new moon in the sign of mars, conjunct chiron the Wounded Healer and mars applying to saturn (exact april 4th)- we would all do well to cultivate the ability to pause, count to 10 and find a response versus reacting otherwise things could get very messy in this lunar cycle.
a new moon in aries is typically a great time to initiate things and set things into motion- but we also have the Wounded Healer (chiron) and Lord of Karma (saturn) reminding us that ‘as we start, so shall we finish’. inherent in new beginnings and how we initiate things lies the seed of their fruition as well as the karmic consequences of anything set into motion. it is so important to be aware of what we set into motion, just as it is equally important that we do the work to finish things completely before we start something new. we can also reverse that statement to say ‘as we finish, so shall we start’. this is the mystical teaching of karma. what is unresolved from the past comes with us into the future. what is started in the present gets set into motion in a way we cannot undo. in truth- how we choose to start AND finish- informs the entire cycle. aries is amazing at setting things into motion but this sign is not always great at making sure those things are not done from a place of reactivity, impulsivity, unskillful anger, selfishness or an inability to sit still. anything set into motion from these spaces can and will incur karma.
this new moon is really presencing our chiron in aries journey which officially began in 2018 and stays with us until he moves into taurus for good in 2027. chiron spends his longest amount of time in aries- and this is when he is closest to uranus in his orbit (vs his shortest time in libra/closest to saturn). interestingly saturn is exalted in libra and uranus is exalted in scorpio (the other mars sign)- showing us that the divine Lovers venus and mars are intimately tied into this trinity of saturn/uranus/chiron. this speaks to the enteral dance of the masculine and feminine.
saturn is the last of the visible planets and is the gatekeeper to the invisible planets and transpersonal realm. uranus is the first of the invisible and transpersonal planets and is the gatekeeper to what lies beyond. chiron is the intermediary – moving between these two realms- linking human and Divine, visible and invisible, personal and transpersonal. with chiron closer to uranus right now he is under the influence of AND influencing the Rebel, Revolutionary and Great Awakener. we are being asked to deeply face our personal and collective wounds and pain around masculine energy and uranus can bring those wounds and pain up in sudden and unexpected ways.
aries the sign is connected to ares the God of War- the greek version of mars. the mars principle has been dominant on the planet for far too long. this can be seen in the fact that we have aries eternally fixed as the sign that initiates spring and the astrological new year. did you know that pre age of aries we did not have the signs fixed like this? as each age turned that sign would become the sign of spring – taking its turn to lead. but in the aries age we had the zodiac fixed, the houses fixed and the seasons fixed (i go into this DEEPLY in my upcoming Stargate Mystery School starting 4/19- more info linked below). what do you think the impact of fixing aries (and ruler mars) as the beginning and leader of all things had on our collective consciousness? well just look around! war! domination! control! brutality! bloodlust!
the war in ukraine right now is a stark reminder of the undercurrent of how our world is run. there are something upwards of 40 wars happening on the planet right now- but the unexpected gift of the one happening in ukraine right now is that it is being shared on social media in a way that is unprecedented. it is in our faces and we cannot look away! may this be a gateway to opening our awareness of all the wars happening on the planet and may prompt collective anger and rage that then creates systemic change in who we choose as leaders and how we allow them to run our countries and our world. so mote it be!
when we look at saturn/uranus/chiron we also get reminded of the karma of the Father Line. uranus would not allow his wife gaia to birth his children- he repressed them and would not allow her to bring them forth (an abuse of the feminine, along with the children!). saturn castrated his father uranus and usurped his father’s power. the karma of the father line followed saturn as he ate his children after being told one would usurp him – and his son jupiter continued the karma of the Father Line and overthrew saturn and became king of the gods. all 3 of these fathers/sons cycled through domination and control, rebellion and revolution, being oppressed and then becoming the oppressor. this has been the mythos of humanity for 5,000 years. WE NEED A NEW MYTHOLOGY (Stargate Mystery School is ALL about this).
as i said the ruler of this lunation is mars and he is heading to cojoin saturn (april 4th). from march 22nd to april 4th we have had mars trigger the separating saturn/uranus squares that were exact all last year (2021). last year was a battle between old and new, the path of least resistance and the path of true change. this year as uranus heads to the north node (exact end of july 26th-31st mean and true nodes) – uranus has the upper hand. last year the effort to change was equal to the resistance of it – but this year uranus will win. the good news is uranus is in taurus- the sign of venus- and it’s the feminine principle that needs to rise to rebalance things and get us out of this mess we have been in for far, far too long!
it is interesting to notice that in the new moon chart ALL FIVE PERSONAL PLANETS are in tense aspect to the nodes- with sun/moon/mercury (and chiron) all semisquare the north node and sesquiquadrate the south node, and venus and mars square the nodes. we also have saturn square the nodes- exact april 21st (mean node)- so big activation of the nodes of destiny and karma are up. with many of the aspects tense we are being challenged to face the shadows of the past (south node in scorpio ruled by pluto/mars) and move into the future with a new frequency leading us (north node in taurus ruled by venus- the Divine Feminine).
this is very much tied into the USA’s pluto return (you can read my article on that linked below). in that article i talked about the transformation of this nation being intimately tied into the returning and rebalancing of the Divine Feminine principle. the Divine Masculine and the Divine Feminine are like two wings on an airplane. you cannot fly a plane with only one wing- and yet it is precisely this that has been happening for the last 5,000 years. we are now in a metaphoric spiral drop down – where a crash is imminent if we do not bring the other wing back online. we have not run out of time to do this yet- but time will run out soon. it’s the 11th hour and it is the 59th minute. THE TIME TO CHANGE IS NOW.
the north node is conjunct capulus- the words given for this star by solar fire are ‘male, sexual and/or aggressive’. the south node is conjunct agena – ‘the pain of learning’. the pain of learning how to wield our masculine energies in healthy ways is definitely clearly seen all over the planet. they say capulus means ‘hilt’ or ‘handle’ of the sword of perseus- but it also can mean coffin or sarcophagus. when i feel into these other word meanings i think of the judgement card in the tarot- where you see a man, woman and child rising out of coffins together- being reborn! when you look deeply at this card you can see that the woman is taller and the rays of music from the angel’s trumpet falls on her arms and her outstretched arms share the divine music with her partner and child. the feminine needs to lead- and the masculine needs to follow. (google rider waite judgment card to see the imagery).
the masculine is a wonderful protector and provider but that yang, externally focused energy should be following the yin, internally sourced direction, not the other way around. as rumi said ‘the outer reflects the inner’ – so we need to start at the Source. the Great Mother is the Source of all life. it is out of her womb that we have all been born and it is back into her womb that will all return when we die. this is about women and it is also not about women (think BOTH/AND) because it’s really about essence. we all have feminine and masculine aspects to our being- and we all have a journey of balancing the side that is lesser developed. on a collective level the feminine has not just been lesser developed- she has been raped, repressed, dominated, controlled, chained and forgotten. the healing of humanity and the shift in consciousness we feel rising is completely related to reclaiming and reinstating the Divine Feminine- within and without.
with this new moon in aries- and all planets direct (including all asteroids!)- we are like a collective train picking up speed in massive ways. where are we headed? is this the right direction? who/what is leading? this is a time to contemplate these questions- in our personal lives but also collectively. as anyone knows- once a train is going full speed you cannot change direction easily- to try to would mean certain disaster. we are each guiding the train of the collective consciousness via our own individual inner work, shadow work, healing and awakening. this is also the wisdom of aries- that one individual can set things into motion for the greater good or for the greater evil. one person can make a difference- and it starts with you and me.
i leave with you the star sparks degree for this new moon and and also the sabian sybmols for both the new moon and chiron degrees. all of them have deep symbolism and contemplation on them can be insightful. the star sparks degree for the new moon speaks to ‘an old woman who hears the stars talking to her at night’. this degree speaks to how ‘the balance must be restored’ and how we need to ‘heed the signs’ and ‘recognize that what had been subtle and secret is now showing up everywhere and demanding change’. this degree reminds us that we have a part in the awakening and our own personal contribution counts. when we show up and do our part ‘it becomes possible for a lot of stuff to clear out and the dawn to reveal what the night never saw’.
the sabian symbol for the new moon speaks to ‘an idealistic reliance upon a mental image of universal order’. there is an cosmic order at play- but we are often so focused on the 3D and small self perspective that we might miss it. the sabian symbol for the chiron degree is ‘an unexploded bomb’ that reveals an unsuccessful social protest. ‘resolution by violence fails because the ego-power at this stage of the process of individualization is far too strong’. this is the HUGE SHADOW of aries- an ego that is overblown, that is over focused on winning, dominating, controlling, taking by violence. dane ruhdyar goes on to say “The State” thwarts attempts at popular revolution, because these are premature expressions of a consciousness which is not free, but can only react “wildly” to constraint and to a central ruling power. It is thus a symbol of immature refusal to conform, in the name of an over-idealistic desire for harmony and peace.”
this is something we would all do well to tune into and contemplate. where are we thinking we are being revolutionary and rebellious when we are acting out like teenage boys (the key for this is adolescent frustration and it’s a mars-ruled degree so the male energy is activated). the thing about teenagers is they have yet to fully develop the frontal lobe in their brain- which governs the ability to think through something and assess the consequences of actions taken before doing so. this capacity allows us to not have to learn lessons by taking action in the moment and then dealing with the fall out afterwards (something we collectively have not mastered as a humanity yet). there is a reason teenagers have adult parents that still need to guide them, set limits and make sure they pay the consequences for their actions. this is how they learn to cultivate delayed gratification as well as discernment. this is how they learn to grow up and not be run by unconscious impulses and lower chakra drives divorced from Higher wisdom and Higher Love.

Aries 12 An old woman hears the stars talking to her at night.
I was here before you were born. I will remain when your worlds have blown away. And even in the now, I’m the enduring one and the silent voice.
My deep world, my high place, my inward sanctuary is for me everything. I never come out of there. I do not adapt or adjust. I abide and I hold the space.
Others around me go through lots of changes. Things start spinning and the unexpected arises, the uncanny is born. But I just gaze and tune and stay neutral. I don’t claim responsibility for anything. And I don’t deny responsibility for everything.
I am walking a beat, talking a tune, invoking a vibration. I am sending, alerting, promising, provoking. It is wake up time. I am the signal. I keep the beat.
So out of my endless timeless dispassion comes the brazen passion of urgency. The balance must be restored. The way of the world is being listened to by all who care and notice. We are not alone.
I say, heed the signs, and I say recognize that what had been subtle and secret is now showing up everywhere and demanding change. And I say, do not pretend to fall back to sleep, you don’t fool me.
I’m keeping a sharp watch for the New Earth. And I earn my keep by putting out into the atmosphere a vibe, a resonance, a frequency which is open, free and cosmically attuned. I am actively awaiting, vividly expecting apocalyptic events.
For I am anything but neutral. I am the herald, the forerunner. I am before and I point the way. It is necessary for me to disturb and violate the false peace, the ritual façade. The prophecy is, catch fire, and don’t be found lacking.
So I stay up 25 hours a day and I watch every step I make and I blow everything up into huge significance. When I am around, it becomes possible for a lot of stuff to clear out and the dawn to reveal what the night never saw.

NEW MOON DEGREE-
PHASE 12 (ARIES 12°): A TRIANGULARLY SHAPED FLIGHT OF WILD GEESE.
KEYNOTE: An idealistic reliance upon a mental image of universal order.
The wild goose is the mystical bird, hamsa, of Hindu tradition. This word, which has recurred in various cultures (the Hansa League of Germanic cities in the late Middle Ages, and El Hanza, the founder of the occult Brotherhood of the Druzes in Lebanon, during the era of the Crusades), has always had at least an undertone of integration at an expansionistic level, spiritual or economic. The Hindu hamsa was the symbol of man’s transcendent soul. What previous interpretations of this Sabian symbol have failed to grasp is that the flight of geese presents not only a remarkably geometrical V-shape moving through the sky, but also that this flight is seasonal and therefore attuned to planetary rhythms. Thus, it symbolizes cosmic order, in contrast with the social-political order within a nation which is represented by its ruler. It is order made visual on the background of the clear sky. It is a “celestial” type of order, even though it is earth-born birds which reveal it by their ability to keep their flight structured. The symbol therefore refers to the Soul-consciousness as visualized by the heaven-oriented mind. Yet this soul-consciousness can be called transcendent because it has not yet become “incarnated.”
Because this is a second stage in the third five-fold sequence begun with Phase 11, we have to consider what it pictures in contrast to the preceding symbol. A basic dualism of consciousness is thus suggested. We see arising a potential conflict between cosmic and social principles of order. The principle of COSMIC ORDER polarizes the all-too-human reliance on the social concept of law and order.
CHIRON DEGREE-
PHASE 13 (ARIES 13°): AN UNEXPLODED BOMB REVEALS AN UNSUCCESSFUL SOCIAL PROTEST.
KEYNOTE: An immature evaluation of the possibility of transforming suddenly the status quo.
The symbol pictures the result of a particular attempt to resolve the conflict between two concept-feelings of order. Resolution by violence fails because the ego-power at this stage of the process of individualization is far too strong. “The State” thwarts attempts at popular revolution, because these are premature expressions of a consciousness which is not free, but can only react “wildly” to constraint and to a central ruling power. It is thus a symbol of immature refusal to conform, in the name of an over-idealistic desire for harmony and peace.
This is the third stage of the third five-fold sequence. A negative attempt at reconciling the spiritual ideal and the very earthly reality, denying the validity of the latter. It suggests ADOLESCENT FRUSTRATION.
