the full moon at 16’40 virgo is exact on tuesday march 7th, 2023 at 7:40am EST, marking the midway point of the current lunar cycle we are in that began with the new moon in pisces on february 19th. that new moon was in the first degrees of pisces and included both venus and neptune in pisces kicking off a very watery, mystical, sensitive but also potentially deceptive and escapist lunation. this full moon in virgo is opposite mercury, the sun and neptune all in pisces and is square mars- triggering the mars/neptune squares. due to mars’ retrograde journey he squares neptune a total of 3 times- with the 3rd and final square happening on march 14th! for the next 10 days- from today march 7th until march 17th- we have the full moon and the sun/mercury conjunction triggering the last hurrah of mars square neptune with both planets now direct. mars square neptune adds to the deceptive, escapist or confusing energy that can be present- but the virgo full moon can be a great antidote for that! this full moon is in earthy, practical virgo and it demands DISCERNMENT and SEEING CLEARLY (both within and without). the mars/neptune square energy since september 2022 has made it hard to see clearly and has also made it easier to be deluded, deceived and/or escapist. in communication, information and media we need to have rose colored glasses off and be aware of our own tendency to confirmation bias (seeing what we want to see through our own distorted sense of beliefs and values). this full moon is truly the anti-dote to all the Mars/Neptune/Pisces energy we have been in the midst of!!!
this full moon is trine uranus- reminding us that the Truth can set us free! but the oppositions to all the pisces planets remind us we have to be willing to see things as they are – not as we wish they would be, could be, might be or used to be. as the saying goes – the Truth can set you free but first it might piss you off. being willing to be pissed off is going to be important – because if we are so avoidant of that we will sweep things under the carpet, deny and avoid looking at things that need to be faced.
we can turn to the vesta/jupiter/chiron conjunction to help us tap into our anger and rage in sacred ways! vesta is the priestess asteroid Goddess of devotion and focus. jupiter is the Greater Benefit who brings much Light. chiron is the Wounded Healer who brings awareness and reveals the wounds that need to heal. all of them in aries spotlights the journey of healing around the masculine, anger, rage, will, drive, agency and selfishness. healthy aries will take a stand for Truth and will have healthy self preservation instincts. unhealthy aries acted out will be selfish, all about me, combative and aggressive- and unhealthy aries repressed will stuff or deny anger and internalize it so that it manifests as passive-aggression, depression or even illness and diseases. healthy relationship to our Sacred Fire is key! (the exact triple conjunction of vesta/jupiter/chiron is on march 12th).
we also have juno conjunct eris and heading to square pluto on march 11th- so the Goddess of partnership, marriage, collaboration and compromise is tensely engaging with the Goddess of Discord and Chaos and the Lord of the Underworld. juno’s natural association is with libra the sign of partnership but right now she is in aries. she knows what she wants and is not willing to compromise on her own needs. this can be great for standing up for oneself in relationships (personal and professional) but we can also find power dynamics exacerbated right now. right balance between self and other, assertion and surrender, self-interest and collaboration is important as we navigate the first couple weeks of march.
saturn is at 29’59 aquarius at the time of the full moon and then SATURN MOVES INTO PISCES just under an hour after the full moon is exact. saturn and virgo have a lot in common. at best they both have deep integrity, capacity for responsibility and hard work, and they can stick with things to see them through. the shadow of these two is they can be super critical, perfectionist, judgmental and be like Atlas Shrugged wearing the world on their shoulders.
saturn into pisces can bring grounding and foundations to our dreams, inspiration and ideals! but saturn can also shut down, limit or repress our dreams, intuition and ideals. it all has to do with how we relate to saturn. the pisces energy wants everything to flow- does not want to work hard for things but just allow them to come in. saturn is all about hard work. yet saturn can overdo that to the point of not aligning with flow and over asserting will to try to control outcomes. can we find the right balance here?
as saturn is at the Karmic Completion Degree and even Karmic Completion MINUTE (29’59 aquarius)- this full moon can be bringing to head all that has not been resolved or dealt with in regards to friendships, community connections, our role as leaders in our communities, hopes and dreams, collective care and more. pay attention to what is coming up at the time of this full moon as the Universe is showing you what must be addressed!
with all planets direct and two slower moving planets about to ingress into new signs- this whole month of march has an energy of the breaks off and the train picking up speed (metaphorically speaking). be clear and intentional about what you are setting into motion right now. the train you are on will be hard to get off and the direction you are headed in will be hard to reroute. this is a month of turning points- so choose wisely!

She is a feisty one. She just dares anybody to get between her and her instincts. If they try it, she pulverizes them, and then gets on with business of consulting herself at her leisure.
She knows how to insist upon being left alone. Her favorite ploy is to make herself unattractive, uninteresting, even some caricature to poke fun at, anything that will throw people off and keep them off. She will not be disturbed.
What she is hatching in there is a new self, a brand new model. And her way of doing this is to fixate completely upon it with an unwavering insistency that this is the only thing that counts.
Sadly, this strategy is doomed. By being so ornery, she pulls in no end of the complication she wants to be rid of. And it is almost impossible for her to come to terms with what she’s doing.
Her sin against the whole of life is that she is too proud with herself and wants to be all-knowing and wise. Yet it’s not this simple, not by a long shot. She has found that she can be taken away from herself by anybody or anything she puts her trust in. So she assumes she has no choice but to be seclusionist, self-protective, eccentric, to keep every comer at bay and save the pure intent to open the door to a fresh new self.
Unfortunately, it still won’t work. She is going to have to let go of her own dearly beloved point of view and come to recognize that she can move through her psychic openness and sensitivity quite well if she faces it directly and nakedly.

We are dealing here with the dramatic release of energies which have been kept in check by the outer shell of the ego controlled consciousness. It may be a spectacular catharsis, but it often takes paths of destruction. Yet unless some form of purification by fire is experienced, the inner pressure of the karmic past or of more recent frustrations would shake up perhaps even more destructively the very foundations of the personality.
At this second stage, the objective confrontation with an image of the karmic past is replaced by a subjective irruption of repressed memories and primitive cravings. Everything must be released from the psyche seeking to attain the transfigured state. The soul must become empty, the mind translucent. The Keyword is EXPLOSION.
