the full moon at 7’06 scorpio is exact on monday april 26th, 2021 at 8:31pm PDT- marking the midway point of the current lunar cycle we are in that began with the VERY POWERFUL new moon in aries conjunct Eris!!! with an aries new moon and scorpio full moon- the spotlight is on mars and pluto (rulers of aries) and how we work with and express our anger, rage, will and selfishness. it’s a super moon and the next 3 full moons are all closest to earth and will appear larger and brighter- which can also magnify emotions, activate the Unconscious and bring heightened dreams.
this full moon is lunar Beltane (solar Beltane is evening of 5/4- to learn more about Beltane the solar gate call will be up a few days before) and also wesak- the full moon that the buddha became enlightened under. i always found it fascinating that his enlightenment occurred under a full moon in scorpio which brings illumination of all the shadows. in truth enlightenment is not about imagining figures of Light, but it’s about making the darkness conscious (quoting jung) – and the full moon in scorpio does just that!!!
with the sun in taurus the sign of form and holding on opposite the full moon in scorpio the sign of death to form, transformation and letting go- we are given an opportunity to BE with the Light and the shadow without grasping (shadow taurus), without running away (shadow scorpio) and instead staying with the discomfort until we move through the portal and what i like to call the eye of the needle and we come out the other side! this kind of energy is available right now- maybe it won’t be as profound as the buddha’s enlightenment (maybe it will be!) but we do each have an opportunity to sit in the mud and find/become the lotus.
this full moon is opposite the sun conjunct uranus- with both mercury and venus having just triggered uranus in the last days- so big wake up/shake up energies are present!!!! uranus is the Higher Mind and he BLOWS our minds open! if we are open minded this could be fun, freeing and liberating! if we are close minded or prefer the safety and security fo the known- then this can be destabilizing, chaotic and shocking.
the full moon is also square saturn- triggering the saturn/uranus square- some of the biggest astrology of 2021. with the sun/moon opposition forming a T square with saturn- we have reality checks coming in. there is a heaviness and gravity to saturn- he demands we grow up, see and deal with reality, align with integrity and be responsible. some of us overdo this and maybe we need to lighten our load. others of us don’t do this at all and this can be a time to stop running from accountability and really be with what is presenting itself. enlightenment is about awareness of everything and as the outer reflects the inner- the best place to expand your awareness is within yourself!
on a collective level this full moon is bringing Light to where we are stuck in our evolution and avoiding change- personally and collectively!!!
with this full moon in scorpio we look to the rulers of scorpio for more information. pluto is the contemporary ruler of scorpio and he is at a standstill about to go retrograde heading even more deeply into the Underworld that he governs (he stations 16 1/2 hours after the full moon). pluto as a standstill squares ceres and trines mercury throughout the week- bringing HUGE triggers to environmental issues, home/family issues, health matters and more. all week long pluto stands still and holds A LOT of power. we must wield that power wisely.
mars is the ancient ruler of scorpio and mars is in cancer, out of bounds and trining the moon while heading to square chiron in the sign of mars. emotional catharsis is possible but we must FEEL our emotions like anger, rage and grief. shadow mars in cancer stuffs emotion, expresses it passively-aggressively and is emotionally reactive. be aware that lots of people are likely to be on edge. ‘be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a battle’ but also ‘do no harm and take no shit’ ;)
there are a few asteroids to take note of in the full moon chart. phaethon is conjunct the sun and opposite the moon- and the full moon energies can exacerbate this asteroid’s tendency to recklessness, being out of control, taking on more than we can handle and not being able to find the moderate middle path. in light of phaethon being with the taurus planets and notably the sun/uranus conjunction- i cannot helps but see this as manifested in our current climate change reality. we have played god and genetically modified things, created technology that has had very toxic waste and dumped it into a rivers and oceans thinking it would magically disappear. and now we are paying the consequences for decades of stupidity. we are in over our heads- and like phaethon who drove the chariot of the sun and almost burned the earth to a crisp- we are in that same place right now. will we wake up and change course? \
we also have vesta the Priestess asteroid Goddess of devotion conjunct Atlantis and opposite orephus. atlantis speaks to a sense of impending doom, abuse of earth’s resources, environmental disasters and warnings. orpheus represents deep grief and mourning for what we have lost. this alignment shows that what is happening now happened before- whether you believe in Atlantis or not- the archetype lesson is meaningful today. the story of Atlantis tells us that the technological advances outgrew their spiritual awareness and moral consciousness and as such they destroyed their land and it sunk into the ocean.
i don’t know about you but i cannot help but look around and feel like it’s deja vu. are we really here again? dumping radiation into the ocean, chemicals into the air, pesticides onto the crops and more? so many young kids with autism, pandas, adhd, ocd- these syndromes are their little bodies screaming out for help. we have never seen the levels of environmental toxicity we have in this millennium ever! these kids are the canaries in the coal mines.
i don’t want to be all doom and gloom but i have to say until more people wake up to the dire situation things are not going to change. we need to unplug from the matrix, stop obsessively consuming, stop checking out on facebook/instagram/netflix and bring our full presence into this moment here and now. to truly do this would require we get in touch with and move through full expression of our grief and rage, as grief opens the heart and rage sets our boundaries and motivates us to take action. we are at a turning point in the climate crisis- please don’t go back to sleep!

Scorpio 8 A (mentally disabled) man with white hair, he has an angelic countenance.
He doesn’t get it. He hasn’t been allowed to see what everybody else sees. This creates so many problems. There are gaps everywhere. He doesn’t know what anybody’s talking about really. Yet he must somehow.
He doesn’t assume what everybody does around here. He acts like he just came from the place of all beginnings. And he never does wipe that smile off his face.
The Holy Fool doesn’t like to be one. It seems like a very old simplistic place to hang out. Yet inside that multiple disguise, what is cooking here? What is working so deeply, so utterly?
It’s like he threw in the towel on the whole modern experiment somewhere along the line, and now he inherits from himself this peculiar legacy of being such an outsider that he’s a true insider.
What can he do with himself really? How can he even conceive of what is happening to him? Does it all feel overwhelmingly intense, or hardly intense at all?
Well, it’s like being thrown open to every state anybody could ever be in, but you are just visiting it, just seeing it, not quite tangled up there, yet somehow more involved, more passionately committed than anybody would be able to take if they knew. Let’s throw them off and keep it moving light and free all around us, and see how long we can stay anonymous, floating free, watery.
There are no options really. There are no easy ways out. When you get in this deep, you really have to swim, and it’s a new kind of swimming. For you’re in with everybody, and you can feel the same edge in all of us. And you know you gotta carry it awhile. And you know it’s beautiful, it’s strange, and it’s needed.

PHASE 218 (SCORPIO 8°): A CALM LAKE BATHED IN MOONLIGHT.
KEYNOTE: A quiet openness to higher inspiration.
One could stress the romantic suggestions such an image evokes, but even at the level of a love relationship what is implied is a surrender of two personal egos to the inspiration of transcendent feelings which are essentially impersonal. Love expresses itself through the lovers, for real Love is a cosmic undifferentiated principle or power which simply focuses itself within the “souls” of human beings who reflect its light. The same is true of the mystic’s love for God. Man strives hard to achieve great things through daring adventures, but a moment comes when all that really matters is to present a calm mind upon which a supernal light may be reflected.
This is the third stage of the forty-fourth five-fold sequence. It tells us that beyond all efforts lays the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above. The Keyword is QUIESCENCE.
