today marks the equinox- that time when the day and night are equal. in the northern hemisphere this marks the beginning of fall and in the souther hemisphere it’s the beginning of spring. the sun moved into libra this morning (friday 9/23) at 2:05am PDT. we have quite a lot of libra activity right now! the sun, mercury (by sunday), venus and juno are all there- as is saturn. there is a focus of our consciousness (sun), minds and communication (mercury), relationships, finances and values (venus), and committed partnerships (juno) on libran themes- balance, beauty, relationship, peace, compromise and social niceties. of course saturn is there, too, so he is teaching us lessons about how to find balance, peace, and compromise in our relationships, our finances and in our lives- and in the process we are being asked to deal with a lot of old relationship and financial karma.
we currently have a dynamic aspect occurring between uranus in aries and pluto in capricorn. they are in an approaching square- the first of which will be next june (2012). but because they are outer planets and slow moving we can most definitely feel the energy they are generating. anytime a planet moves into a cardinal sign- aries, cancer, libra or capricorn- they will get activated by uranus and pluto, bringing intensity, change and potential for transformation into some area of our lives. this week and next we will have both the sun and mercury tensely aspect uranus and pluto- taking us through some intense situations in our lives that demand change, transformation and perhaps even a need for letting go. there is something of a karmic clearing going on right now- we need to clean out our closets and basements and take out the proverbial trash so that we are clear and ready for what is on the horizon. if we hold on to the past too much it will keep us in the past! i am sure we can all see where this may be playing out in our lives right now.
with the equinox sun opposing uranus and squaring pluto in the first days of fall (or spring in the southern hemisphere) we can expect quite a dynamic season to unfold for us- personally and globally. libra likes peace, harmony and beauty- but tense aspect to uranus and pluto are likely to bring anything but. if we overdo the libra energy we can find ourselves sticking our heads in the sand- trying to avoid the inevitable. the Highest expression of libra is finding balance in the chaos- so we each will have an opportunity to find that expression in the days, weeks and months to come.
there is a new moon in libra next week as well- initating a whole new cycle of relating to the libra areas of our natal charts and lives. this new moon is also opposite uranus and square to pluto- so it will be a doozy! but if you can stay in integrity and align with your Highest good- rather than with what is easy, pretty or socially acceptable- then you can make some dramatic headway in the next lunar cycle. i will be writing the new moon blog shortly and you can find it under the ‘lunar insights’ tab if you are a member. if you are not you can sign up for a one week trial to check it out before you commit :)
