Is it true that all the United States Presidents (but one) are related by one common ancestor from the middle ages?
In the last weeks and months I have seen a bunch of videos and articles circulating about a teenage girl who did a research project in 2009 on the US Presidents and came to find that they are all direct line relatives of John Lackland- aka King John of England. I have also seen websites that spoke to this before her research- so it is not quite clear if she came up with it but she did get publicly noticed for it which has made the information spread. And for some reason it is up in the ethers again NOW- 17 years after her research got put on the public news. What stands out the most about her research is that she does not just focus on the Male Line of Descent. She includes the Mother Line- and when doing this you find the linkages to all the Presidents of the United States of America.
King John was called Lackland because he was the youngest 5th son of King Henry II (the King of England) and was not expected to be King or inherit a lot of land and initially he had no substantial lands given to him at birth. His brother Richard the Lionheart was King but he died in 1199 and by then his other brothers had passed as well- so he ended up becoming King, despite being the 5th son and bottom of the totem pole so-to-speak.
PLEASE NOTE- 2009 was before Trump and Biden- but both appear to have also been found to be direct line relatives as well. Biden is said to be direct line to John Lackland- but what I have found online about Trump is that he is Direct Line to John of Gaunt via his mother who is a MacLeod who was born and raised on the Isle of Lewis in Scotland- living 30 minutes from the Callanish Standing Stones (I found that interesting). They do not explicitly say he is direct line with King John but John of Gaunt is directly connected to King John as John Lackland is John of Gaunt’s Great Great Great Grandfather.
King John is famous for being forced into signing the Magna Carta which was also known as “the Great Charter…a document signed by King John in 1215. It was one of the first legal documents in the world to limit the power of a king and establish certain rights for the people. The Magna Carta was the result of negotiations between the king and a group of barons who were dissatisfied with his rule and sought to restrict his power. The document established principles such as the rule of law, due process, and individual liberties, including protection from arbitrary imprisonment and seizure of property. It also laid the foundation for the development of a constitutional monarchy, in which the power of the king was limited by law and the rights of the people were protected. The Magna Carta is widely regarded as one of the most important legal documents in the history of Western civilization and is considered a cornerstone of English constitutional history.”
They *say* that the Magna Carta was the precursor to the US Constitution- but when you look closely at it the Magna Carta was really all about the nobles and rich people. “The Magna Carta primarily benefited the barons and the Church, as it was designed to limit the king’s power over them rather than to provide rights for the general populace. Its clauses focused on the privileges of the nobility and did not address the needs of the common people.” But the fact that it limited rights of the previously all powerful King is why it is said to be a precursor to the US Constitution, Bill of Rights and Declaration of Independence.
King John was also famous for being a tyrant! He had a bad reputation and in the Robin Hood myth they present him as a tyrant- with Robin Hood being a hero opposing King John’s oppressive rule as he steals from the rich to give to the poor. So is it true all the Presidents but one have this common ancestor? It is supposed to be true (I have seen several websites and news articles validate it)- it would be hard and VERY time consuming for me to personally check all the lineages but as this research was done 17 years ago- I believe enough people have looked into it to validate it is accurate and true (and yet there are still arguments about it today- people love to argue!!!). And for many people when they say this about all the US Presidents they say it in a negative way- everyone descended from a Tyrannical King!
For me, what is important genealogically is not King John but his mother- as all the US Presidents (but one) are direct line relatives of Eleanor of Aquitaine- King John of England’s Mother.
Eleanor of Aquitaine is considered to be one of the most impressive and powerful figures (male or female) of the High Middle ages- and as the World History Encyclopedia states her “influence shaped the politics, art, medieval literature, and perception of women in her era.”
Eleanor was first married to the French King Louis the 7th and they had 2 daughters. Louis apparently had their marriage annulled because he wanted male children (they also did not get along great as they had completely different personalities)- so then she went off to marry his rival Henry Plantagenet, Duke of Normandy and future King of England. Their union created a dynastic empire that controlled all of England and half of France. It is said that their marriage was a true love match (until it devolved horribly in later years) and lo and behold when she had kids with him she birthed 5 boys and 3 more girls. Clearly it was not her fault she was not giving babies to Louis ;) (And actually scientifically they have proven that it is the man’s sperm that determines sex of the child- yet historically women would get the blame!)
Why, you ask, is it HER ancestry that I think is the most important when we look at the common lineages of the Presidents of the United States? Because Eleanor of Aquitaine’s grandfather was a Troubadour and she is the one responsible for popularizing the fashion of the Courts of Love. It used to be said she started this fashion- but in truth it had been growing and building in the late 11th century. Some articles online minimize her part in this but we cannot overlook the fact that the first known and tracable Troubadour with writings we can read today was her Grandfather Guillaume IX. Troubadours were poets who sang songs of love that idealized women (and the Divine Feminine)- and in a time where women were seen as property this was a very big deal.
The Troubadour music and poetry was aligned with the Cathar spiritual tradition- also prominent at this time- which was a tradition that believed in having a direct connection to the Divine and that women were equals and could be priests (or priestesses). It is said that Eleanor sympathized with the Cathar cause- and I get the sense her bringing the teachings of the Courts of Love into prominence was her way of trying to support them. Eleanor’s grandfather was born in 1071 and was part of the late 11th century start to the concept of the Courts of Love. She grew up exposed to it- and then as Duchess of Aquitaine, Queen of France and then Queen of England she brought it into her courts and expanded its influence massively.
Her 2 French daughters followed in her footsteps with her eldest Marie de Champagne bringing Chretien de Troyes (writer of the Grail Myth) to her court- which is when the seeds of the modern Grail Myth came into being. The Grail Myth itself is said to have been written by Chretien based on a much older manuscript he had access to and that he was commissioned by Philip I Count of Flanders to write it. Her daughter with her 2nd husband Henry, Eleanor of England- married Alfonso VIII the Noble and she brought her mother’s influence into the courts of Spain. Incidentally Eleanor and Alfonso were the parents of Blanche of Castile who was the mother of Saint Louis IX. When I visited sacred sites this summer- notably Rocamadour- you could see beautiful paintings of both Blanche and St Louis there as they made pilgrimage to visit the Black Madonna.
Eleanor was a true Grail Queen who hailed from lineages that connected her all the way back to the Merovingian Kings. It is said that her line goes all the way back to Jesus and Mary Magdalene! Shocking and Heretical? or Truthful? I think the latter ;)
For me this is the true ancestral connection all the Presidents share. But not all- and honestly I would say probably not most- were/are awake to the codes and Grail Lineage they carried. Some of the earlier Presidents I believe were- but over time as money, power and control came into the picture- things devolved. Very much like the Grail Myth teaching itself where we see the Wounded Fisher King living in a Wasteland. In the story he has been wounded in his thigh or groin which represents a wound of violence and sex. Truly the Grail Myth shadow is one of war and rape- killing and forcing- and this is why the land is a Wasteland. When we come from wounded lower chakras we default to power over and power under- aka the Karma of the Father Line as I like to call it. (I talk about this a lot in my classes but it has to do with the Uranus/Saturn/Jupiter family line drama).

A major turn of events for the USA was in 1905 when our Progressed Jupiter- Chart Ruler of the USA Natal Chart (Sibley version) went Retrograde in a T square with Saturn and Pluto. At this time powerful interests and corporations began taking over and controlling things- like JP Morgan. President Teddy Roosevelt believed the public interest was of greater importance than the wealthiest businesses – and he was very concerned about the growth of Big Business, Wall Street’s influence and financial take overs by large companies. Teddy Roosevelt fought this influence (see my Transformation of a Nation article Part Two here- https://divineharmony.com/astrology-blog/the-transformation-of-a-nation-the-rare-astrological-alignments-of-the-united-states-2023-2025/) and took it all the way to the supreme court and won!
Unfortunately, despite Teddy Roosevelt being a strong advocate for breaking up monopolies- subsequent Presidents did not enforce things which allowed monopolies to take over again. The Wall Street Panic happened a few years later and then the Federal Reserve was put into place. And all of that has brought us to NOW- as clearly the imprint of monopolies and powerful interests and take overs is something we are still dealing with today.
The GOOD NEWS is that Jupiter just stationed Direct in our Progressed Chart July 2025 trine our Progressed Sun and Moon (Progressed New Moon) and conjunct our Natal Sun. So we are just starting to crawl out of that Underworld Journey- and this bodes well for things shifting for our country. Lest we think it’s the leaders who need to change or do the work- we have to start with ourselves. They say that a country gets the leader it deserves. So if each of us commit to deep inner work and healing- we can transform within which will lend itself to transform without. And as the Tipping Point theory tells us- it does not take a lot of us to commence the shift!
For me, the important connection all the Presidents have is not to King John but to Eleanor- a true Grail Queen and woman who helped birth the Courts of Love which led to the modern Grail Myth being written. She used her position and power to teach men to honor the feminine and devote oneself to a quest for something Higher. This thread is in all the Presidents via their DNA lines- but it is not awakened. Just like how we all have DNA that if ‘turned on’ can activate illness or disease- we also all have DNA that is asleep and if awakened can ‘turn on’ Light Codes of consciousness our ancestors carried. Eleanor of Aquitaine, the Merovingian Kings, Mary Magdalene and Jesus- all stand behind the Presidents of the United States of America.
I have studied a lot of these lines and it appears that often it is the WOMEN who hold the codes of Light and Love- while the men stay locked in power struggles and dominance. This is not always the case- sometimes men are benevolent kings and kind and the women are the ones stuck in power struggles. But usually it is the women holding the Light. And I have noticed that the Light skips generations- it is there in the DNA but it is like it is asleep. And then someone downline incarnates with the Light awakened in them. It is a fascinating study- one I am still very much knee deep in right now.
Most Kings and Rulers focus on power, wealth, amassing influence and political dominance. But what the Courts of Love taught and more importantly what Jesus and Mary Magdalene taught- was that Love is the true power and honoring the Feminine principle is key for not only well being and peace but also so we do not extinct ourselves as a humanity. Honoring the Feminine is not just about women- as the Earth is conceived of as feminine in essence and so are children, the elderly, indigenous cultures, and animals. How people treat the earth, nature, children, the elderly, indigenous peoples and animals IS A REFLECTION OF HOW THEY TREAT THE FEMININE. When we honor the feminine we honor life. War and Rape, violence and extraction culture are why we live in a Wasteland. It is only honoring of the Feminine Principle (aka the Holy Grail) that will bring us back into the Light.
I hope someone in the Presidential Seat wakes up to this ancestral calling and starts leading from this place. That is when the USA will truly be able to come into our North Node in Leo Destiny- ruled by the Sun conjunct Sirius in Cancer, widely conjunct Venus and Jupiter the two Benefics in Cancer. Cancer is the sign of the Divine Mother. Cancer is the ONE SIGN that stands out on the Ceiling of Dendera in Egypt- not shown on the two panels that show the Day and Night Signs of the Constellations but being the ONE Sign that goes into and out of the Heart/Womb of the Celestial Mother Nut. The Divine Mother (and Divine Feminine) is our Destiny- and when we heed her call, our True Destiny as a Country will come forward. And based on the Astrology I see happening now and incoming- that is on the horizon!

Of all the royal coffins I have seen- this is the only one of a woman reading a book- a nod to her high level of intelligence (many women were not taught to read back then) and for me a sign of her commitment to learning, knowledge and wisdom- which is no doubt part of why she was such a pivotal and powerful female leader in the 12th century.
There are 3 Grails in the body- The Grail of Power in the womb/hara, the Grail of Love in the heart and The Grail of Wisdom in the head. The key is the Grail of Heart needs to lead- informed by wisdom- with power being last and only being wielded so that Love and Wisdom and can lead. This is the true meaning of leadership- where leaders/kings/queens were servants of the people. When our country is lead from this place we will step into our true Destiny!
